Desiree De Jesus Roman
Attorney
Desiree holds a magna cum laude B.A. in Communications from University of Puerto Rico and a cum laude Juris Doctor from University of Puerto Rico School of Law. She began her legal career in February 2014 working as a Hearing Officer for the Public Services Appeals Commission in Puerto Rico. From 2014 to 2017 Desiree presided over quasi-judicial hearings and reviewed employment-based claims from government employees. During this time, Desiree also managed a boutique law firm in Puerto Rico.
After hurricane Maria’s devastation in Puerto Rico in September 2017, Desiree felt obliged to close her legal practice and relocate to the DMV area where she started practicing immigration law. Her struggles after hurricane Maria and the need to reinvent herself were motivations for her to develop a passion for helping others to achieve their American dream.
Desiree worked for over two years as an Associate Attorney at an immigration law firm in Virginia. In this job, Desiree successfully represented many individuals for defensive and affirmative asylum, and applicants for adjustment of status and naturalization.
From August 2020 to August 2021 Desiree worked as a Staff Attorney for Immigration Legal Services-Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington. During her time at this non-profit, Desiree mainly focused on applications under the consideration of USCIS.
In August 2021 Desiree joined Fayad Law as an Associate Attorney focusing on removal defense. It brings her joy and a great deal of job satisfaction to be able to help the immigrant community in the DMV area.
Desiree is native in Spanish and is barred in Puerto Rico.
